Azure Data Platform Proof of Concept
Hands-on implementation of your first use case on the Microsoft Azure Data Platform with your data. This will include a walkthrough of all components and logical layers according to best practices.
The initial considerations regarding the architecture and concept have been made – now you finally want to see how this can be optimally implemented in the Azure Data Platform with data from your own systems?
We will guide you through the first steps on Azure with the Managed Services and show you how you can use the platform optimally. Our aim is to demonstrate the performance, functionality and look & feel of the Managed Services and to provide you with an initial prototype that can be used productively on Azure.
If you do not yet have a clear idea of your data project, we recommend that you start with our Microsoft Data Strategy & Analytics Assessment. We will analyze your data landscape and your analytics requirements and provide you with specific recommendations for action towards a data strategy.
The proof of concept consists of the following three phases:
1. Kick-off Workshop
- Define the scope and objectives of the proof of concept
- Design: architecture concept with sources, Azure components and data flows
- Sequence and prioritization of tasks
- Definition of roles and responsibilities
- General project organization as meetings and working environment
- Ensure PoC readiness with regard to Azure, data sources, etc.
2. Implementation
- Setting up and configuring the Azure components and other required resources
- Establishing connectivity to data sources and ingestion to Azure
- Design semantic data model, optimized for analytical questions
- Transformation and orchestration of the data to manage the target schema
- Design of a report in Power BI and/or a semantic access layer
- Ongoing communication and involvement of you in the development process to coordinate technical details and
to identify and eliminate blockers
3. PoC Production-Readiness
- Ensuring automated data loading that is as error-free and quality-assured as possible
- Authorization concept and documentation
- Important information on the operation of the platform
- Handover of the platform and joint summary of target achievement
- Roadmap with the next steps and further development options
